Random Thoughts

... I wonder how I can get that TV hooked up to this computer and be able to ditch the cable? Um, yeah, that Biggest Loser workout was much better and way more useful than the sorry walking video I did last night. I wonder what life will be like as a size 6 again? Will I ever make it there? Of course it doesn't matter if I don't - well, to me it does, but it won't be a problem for anyone else. Looking forward to seeing some girlfriends tomorrow night. Hmmm... what to plan for Family Fun Day on Sunday. Loved spending the day outside. I really should try to fix the lawn mower over the weekend and surprise David. Need to send a thank you card... do I have stamps - yes I do. Brad is doing so well sitting up -oh, man, I still haven't worked in his baby book, or Drew's... add both to the list of things I never seem to get to. Wow, need to get ice cream off the brain. But I am so warm - it would taste so good. But 27 pounds lighter is going to taste even better. If the people on the Biggest Loser can do it, I can! My desk was clean... it's on it's way back to messy and dysfunctional. I can't wait to get all the outside toys in one location in the garage - ah, the garage. It is a for certain love-hate relationship. Add that to the list too. Does my church family know how much they mean to me? I don't know where we would be without them.

A couple of photos from Bradley's room (I had promised these photos a long time ago and never posted them).

The Hardest Thing About Boys... Thus Far

... Is that even as infants, I can't hold them as much as I would like. Once they get to be about four months old, they start wiggling out of my arms. They want to move, they want to run, crawl, jump... they are already wired to be movers and shakers. They love the arms of Momma, but not enough to stay put.

I know I only have them for a short time... and once they become men, they won't be desiring Momma's coddling, by God's design. But do I have to let go so early? I just wish I could hold them, rock them, kiss them, indefinitely, until they are at least five - right?

I Love Living Here

This is the view from my front window

This is the view from my back porch

I love that Andrew squeals with delight every time he sees a bunny.

I love the hawks with their impressive wing span and the frost that shows up when it is 7 to 10 degrees colder than on the coast (although I hope we're done with the latter).

I think it's interesting (?) that the occasional bears (black spot by the front of the house) will greet the sun in our front yard as the fog lifts and I love the otters that frolic in the backyard when the 'lake' is fresh.

I spot peacocks that take mid-morning strolls and I hear roosters that announce the most beautiful parts of the day - dawn and dusk.

I have a front row seat to the most beautiful display of thousands of stars, and it doesn't cost a dime.

My amaryllis bloom shows up overnight, always when I least expect it, and puts a smile on my face, like a good friend stopping by for a surprise visit.

Thank you, Lord, for this beautiful place I call home.

Cousins

Brad, Piper and Drew playing on Drew's new bed.

Can you believe these two are only 4 months apart?! (By the way, Bradley is not poking Piper in the eye- it just looks that way).

Recipes from MOPS 4/15/10

For those of you who wanted the recipes to some of the items I brought to the 4/15 meeting, here are the links:

Amazing Overnight French Toast
I tripled this recipe.

Sausage and Egg Casserole
I tripled this recipe as well, and added fresh summer squash (zucchini and yellow squash).

Crockpot Oatmeal

I doubled this recipe. For those of you who did not have any of this, you missed out. If you truly enjoy oatmeal as much as I do, you will find this to be quite delicious.

Daddy, Come Find Me!

Hmmmm. I wonder where Drew could be.... Anyone see Drew?

The Accountant's Child

Charts! Charts!

A few people have asked me about the charts I keep on my refrigerator. They are just what I came up with after much trial and error that help me manage my responsibilities at home, as well as our schedules. It really isn't that I am that checklist oriented; it's just that I need to see things throughout the day so I don't lose my direction.

Anyway, I am including links to these documents for those of you who wanted to peruse them and customize for yourself.
