In and Out

I know I'm going to sound like an old, legalistic granny, but am I the only one who thinks too many people are coming and going as they please during church services? Yes, when little ones fuss or need to move, or there is an emergency, or you get paged to pick up your little one... then it is time to move. But, you can't tell me that all those people who are up and down, in and out, back and forth, more than once, during the service each week, didn't know that they needed to use the restroom before service started. You can't tell me that you couldn't wait a few more minutes for a cup of coffee (or Coke, or water). And, sorry, but what is up with all the people who think if they leave right after the sermon during prayer time that they are on to something? Guess what? We all end up leaving eventually, and is it that important to get going before everyone else does? I am a fairly focused person, and generally do not have a hard time concentrating when distracting things are going on around me. However, I feel sometimes like I am sitting in a fast food joint with a revolving door at the back, where folks just seem to operate under the impression that church must fit into their busy personal over-scheduled lives. They come in, order what they want (a little music here, a small prayer on the side, and a small helping of the Word), and then they are on to the next thing.
